I started in the mortgage industry as an assistant in 2013. I was helping out with marketing, lead management and collecting underwriting conditions from clients. I learned a lot about every stage of the loan process, which led me to get my license to originate loans in 2015. I still worked as an assistant, seeing loans through the entire journey, from contract to close. I worked directly with the processing, underwriting and closing departments to ensure smooth, on-time closings. I became very familiar with and intrigued by loan structuring, and learned all I could about the different loan program types and guidelines, working my hardest on the operational aspect of lending.
